About Anythink
Anythink is the whole backend in one project: a database with an instant REST API, sign-in, subscriptions (Stripe and Apple in-app purchases), workflows, search, file storage and an operations dashboard, all built from your data model.
People build with it in the Anythink dashboard, from the terminal with the CLI, or by asking Claude or another AI assistant through MCP. All three run the same commands against the same project, so what an assistant builds is something you can open, check and run.
Customers include GetAhead Mindset, a sports psychology app on the App Store and Google Play, and Route 1, a music distributor. The platform is a C# .NET API and worker on PostgreSQL, with Meilisearch for search and RabbitMQ between services, running on Kubernetes built with Terraform. We are a small team, and what you build here reaches customers straight away.
The Role
You will work across the platform: the API every project calls, the worker that runs workflows, and the infrastructure under both. It is a senior role with real influence on architecture and the roadmap, working directly with the founder. We ship small changes often, and we write a test for every rule we find.
What you'll work on
- The dynamic API that turns a project's entities and fields into REST endpoints: the query builder, filters, permissions and row-level security, including group-scoped reads
- The workflow engine and its worker: event, schedule, API and manual triggers, condition steps, scripts, integration steps, and email and push sends fanned out over the message queue
- Subscriptions: Stripe Connect, Apple in-app purchase verification, entitlements and the admin tools that recover a subscription when something goes wrong
- Sign-in: email and password, magic links, and Apple, Google and LinkedIn sign-in verified on the server
- Search on Meilisearch, file storage with presigned downloads, and media probing that runs out of process
- The CLI and MCP server, so an AI assistant can build and run a whole project with the same commands a developer types
- Kubernetes and Terraform for the shared platform and for dedicated stacks we build for enterprise customers
- Architecture and roadmap decisions with the founder
Must-have
- Production experience with C# .NET, writing and running services you own end to end
- Deep PostgreSQL knowledge: schema design, indexing, query plans and row-level security
- Kubernetes in production: workloads, scaling, networking and observability
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform or similar
- Experience building SaaS where every request has to stay inside one customer's data
- Good API design and REST judgement
- Security as a starting point: auth, data isolation and access control are part of the design, not a later pass
Nice-to-have
- Building developer tools or developer-facing platforms
- Search engines such as Meilisearch, Typesense or Elasticsearch
- Message queues such as RabbitMQ
- Stripe Connect or the App Store Server API
- Building tools for AI agents, such as MCP servers
- TypeScript and React

About the founder
Anythink was founded by Chris Addams, who built products at Amazon Prime Video, BBC, DAZN, Tesco, TalkTalk and PayPoint. He started Anythink after seeing the same problem everywhere: teams spending months on backend plumbing that does nothing to set their product apart.
